Welcome to the online space of Melanie Parlette-Stewart. I created this site to display my adventures in Library and Information Studies. Here you’ll find my résumé, publications + presentations and project examples (coming soon!).

Melanie Parlette-Stewart

I was raised in small town Ontario – Bancroft, Ontario (the Mineral Capital of Canada!) to be exact. I chose to attend Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario where I completed a double major in Political Studies and History. After completing my degree I decided to pursue a Masters in Library and Information Studies at Dalhousie University where I was lucky to be able to complete a Reference and Technical Services internship at Dalhousie’s Killam Library.

After graduation, my husband and I moved to Guelph, Ontario where he is now pursuing a degree in Landscape Architecture. I work as the Blended Learning Librarian for the University of Guelph. We enjoy the in-between feel of Guelph – not quite big city, but big enough that we have great restaurants, coffee shops and live music. The parks and trails in our Exhibition Park neighbourhood are fantastic for walking our Jack Russell – Corgie dog named Marley.

My personal interests include cooking, young adult fiction, yoga and crafting. I blog professionally at “becoming blended” (here) and personally at “what the librarian wore” (here).

I am present on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Slideshare, Tumblr (Personal)Tumblr (Professional) and Pinterest. Feel free to connect.
